My 3rd New York trip - HUGE PHOTO POST- October 2014 - 1st part

This was our third time in NYC,so we went to see what we missed in the previous trips,and something new that(sadly) wasn't there before.Here's why there are not many "classic" locations in this photo recap.

I tried to keep it as concise as i could,any curiosity you may have on any pic,just ask!

The fountains built in place of the Twin towers.Huge and so terribly sad!Built so you can never really see the bottom,they seem infinite.

A number of persons who witnessed the facts were asked to paint a little sheet with the color they remembered the sky was,that day.

July 4th,2013 makeup

Anche questo 4 Luglio ho voluto festeggiare la festa dell'indipendenza a modo mio,realizzando un make-up a tema U.S.A.

Prima di tutto ho steso un primer bianco su tutto l'occhio,poi su tutta la palpebra fissa ho applicato un ombretto bianco.Ho preso un cerotto di carta largo di quelli in rotolino,ne ho tagliato 2 pezzi che ho poi diviso in 4 striscioline ciascuno con le forbici,e li ho appiccicati come stencil per poter fare le striscie rosse . Ne ho attaccato uno lungo il bordo esterno dell'occhio,dall'angolo dell'occhio alla fine delle sopracciglie,e gli altri 3 spaziandoli + regolarmente possibile.Ho poi applicato l'ombretto rosso con un pennello negli spazi tra le striscie,ho rimosso i pezzetti di cerotto,ho ritoccato un pò l'ombretto bianco(un pò era rimasto sui cerotti :P ),ho steso il blu scuro sulla palpebra mobile e sotto l'occhio, ho attaccato le stelline(comprate in una cartoleria,quindi non proprio un roba sana,ma vabbè ^^) con la colla per ciglia finte e ho completato con una generosa passata di mascara.

Mi pento di non aver riempito le sopracciglia,ultimamente con la scusa che ho la frangia lunga la pigrizia prende spesso il sopravvento e non le curo come meriterebbero ;) 

I wanted to celebrate july,4th my way,by making a usa flag inspired make-up!

I used stripes of paper patches to mask the upper lid to make the stripes,and stationery stars (not so eye-safe,uh!)were stuck to my mobile lid with the glue you use for fake lashes.Any questions on the other steps,just ask ;) i am so sorry i didn't fill the brows!Lazyness sometimes takes over,i use the "fringe is so long it will cover 'em"excuse to avoid that step ^^

Independence day : 4th of july - patriotic cakes

I always loved how US citizens love to celebrate their country with patriotic cakes.
Here in Italy nobody gives an effin' damn about cooking red,white and green cakes,if not maybe in case of a huge national team soccer match(world championship final for instance).

In the mosaic above,you can see pictures from:

1) The secret life of a chef's wife (top left) : pretty classical but with the banana/custard cake must really be a delicious combo <3

2) Betty Crocker site (bottom left) : each slice becomes a cute flag in your plate!So cute.

3) Jacks & Cake (top right) : ain't this a great twist?Patriotic,but steering away from the usual red,white and blue.Great!

4) City of moms (bottom right) : i'm not a big fan of jello,but that's such a pretty vision i might eat these anyways ;)

Biscotti golosi al cioccolato e noci - Walnut and chocolate brownies

Ingredienti:
175 grammi di burro
175 g cioccolato fondente
150g farina
165 g zucchero
140 g noci(o nocciole,o un misto delle due)
1 pizzico di sale
3 uova

Mettete in una ciotola il burro ed il cioccolato a pezzettini,passateli nel forno a microonde a media potenza, ad intervalli di 20 secondi mescolando bene finchè si sarà sciolto ed amalgamato tutto.Potete fare questo passaggio anche in una pentola a bagnomaria.Importante non scaldare troppo il composto,per non fare "impazzire"la cioccolata.Aggiungete lo zucchero e una alla volta le uova,mescolando dopo ognuna,incorporate la farina setacciata e poi le noci spezzettate grossolanamente.Mescolate ancora bene,versate il composto in una teglia rivestita di carta forno e cuocete in forno a 180° per 40 minuti.Dopo aver sfornato,aspettate almeno 10 minuti prima di tirare fuori dallo stampo la torta e tagliarla a quadrotti o bastoncini.Potete servirli spolverizzati di zucchero o,come si usa fare negli USA,tiepidi e ricoperti da una pallina di gelato alla crema.

ingredients:
175 grams butter,175 g dark chocolate,150 g flour,165 g sugar,140 g walnuts(or hazelnuts or a mix of the two),3 eggs,a salt pinch.

Melt chocolate and butter pieces together(either in the microwave or in  on a double boiler),being careful about not making it too hot,as it may cause the chocolate to separate.Add sugar and then the eggs,one by one stirring after each;add the flour,passed through a sieve,stir well and after it's well-mixed add the walnuts,broken in big pieces.Stir well,pour the mixture in an oven pan, covered in baking paper,and bake at 180° celsius for 40 minutes.Take it out from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes at least,before taking it out of the pan and serve it cut in squares or sticks.You can also add some powdered sugar on top,or a vanilla ice cream scoop on warm ones.

My Usa themed makeup - Trucco per il raduno UOTR

Ecco qua il famoso trucco del raduno!!!Ovviamente le foto che mi hanno fatto sono tutte lontane/scure/bruciate,ma vediamo di recuperare qualcosa e di spiegarvi che ho combinato!!!
Innanzitutto ho ridisegnato le sopracciglia con un matitone blu,passandoci sopra con un pennellino un pò di ombretto Mac "freshwater",per fissare e virare un pò il tono verso il blu che volevo io(il matitone che ho usato buttava un pò sul viola).
Le sopracciglia colorate vengono molto meglio con l'eyeliner se le avete scure,come ad esempio avevo fatto qua sotto col viola(eyeliner Beauty UK),ma non avevo l'eyeliner blu e mi son dovuta arrangiare :P

Ho messo il primer Urban decay PP sulla palpebra,ho steso del bianco sotto la sopracciglia ed ho disegnato delle righette bianche e rosse sulla palpebra mobile con una matita per occhi bianca ed una matita per labbra rossa.Un pò come avevo fatto in questo trucco qua sotto,ma estendendomi ulteriormente in alto e facendolo anche sulla parte bassa dell'occhio.

Ho poi messo con 2 pennellini sottili,dell'ombretto bianco(Maybelline) e rosso ( Fatality by Spectrum Cosmetics )sopra le strisce disegnate a matita.Ho messo il fondotinta e il rossetto (Clarins) e sono passata al tocco finale:le tre stelline,per un vero look "stars and stripes"!Le ho comprate in una cartoleria,un gozziliardo di stelline in tubetto a meno di un euro...so che forse dovrei dirvi che non è sano etc etc,quindi ecco l'ho detto.Passando oltre,le ho incollate alla faccia con la colla per ciglia finte,hanno tenuto bene fino a sera,quando le ho staccate io per cambiare makeup per la serata!
